About Our Mobile Practice

What to Look For in a Mobile App Development Company

A straight account of how our mobile practice is structured: who does the work, how engagements are priced, what certifications we hold, and the questions you should ask any agency before signing.

How to Choose

Ask Every Agency These Five Questions

Most agency selection processes compare portfolios and day rates, which are the two least predictive signals available. Portfolios show the best work an agency has ever been associated with, not what your project will get, and day rates tell you nothing about how many days it will take. The questions that actually separate firms are duller: who specifically writes the code, whether the repository is yours, what happens when a sprint slips, who handles store rejections, and what maintenance costs after launch.

We publish our answers because they hold up. Work is done by salaried in-house engineers, not subcontractors sourced per project. Your repository and cloud accounts are yours from day one. Sprint slippage is reported in the weekly update rather than absorbed silently until the deadline. Store submission and resubmission are included. Maintenance is quoted before you commit, not after you are dependent.

Engagement Models

How You Can Work With Us

Different projects want different commercial shapes. These are the three we run, and the cases each suits.

Dedicated Mobile Pod

A standing team of engineers, QA and a designer working only on your product in your sprint cadence. Best for evolving roadmaps.

Staff Augmentation

Individual iOS, Android, Flutter or React Native engineers embedded in your existing team. Best when you have your own tech lead.

Discovery Engagement

A short paid engagement producing a platform recommendation, scope and estimate, with no obligation to continue.

Takeover & Rescue

Auditing and taking over an app another team started, including a written assessment before commitment.

Maintenance Retainer

OS compatibility, dependency patching, store policy changes and monitoring for a live app.

Tooling

Capability We Keep In-House

Swift & SwiftUI Kotlin React Native Flutter Firebase Fastlane CI/CD
Credentials

What Backs the Claim

CMMI Level 3 Appraised

An independently appraised delivery process, applied to every engagement rather than only large ones.

ISO 9001 & ISO 27001

Certified quality management and information security, which matters when your app handles regulated data.

AWS Advanced Tier Partner

Recognised AWS Partner Network standing for the cloud infrastructure behind the apps we build.

Our Own Shipped Products

SWIPEBY, FLEX and Tankspotter are our products, so we carry the cost of our own architectural decisions.

Verified Client Reviews

Listed with reviews on Clutch and GoodFirms, from clients you can contact directly.

Three Delivery Time Zones

Teams in India, the US and the UK, giving overlap with most client working hours.

Commitments

What We Commit To in Writing

These are contractual, not aspirational. If an agency will not put the equivalent in writing, that itself is the answer.

Talk to Our Team
  • You own the source code and every cloud and third-party account from the first day
  • No subcontracting of engineering work without your written agreement
  • The engineers named in the proposal are the engineers who do the work
  • App store submission and any resubmission after review feedback is included
  • A weekly written status report that names slippage rather than hiding it
  • Maintenance pricing quoted before you commit to the build, not afterwards
Our Process

What Working With Us Looks Like Week to Week

1

Scoping Call

A 30-minute call to understand the product, then a written summary of what we heard and what we would recommend.

2

Proposal & Team Named

Scope, price, timeline and the actual named engineers assigned, with their profiles.

3

Weekly Demos & Reports

A working build and a written status report every week, including anything that slipped and why.

4

Your Tools, Your Repository

We work in your Jira or Linear, your GitHub, your cloud accounts, so nothing is trapped with us.

5

Launch & Defined Support

Store submission handled, then a support window with agreed response times and a quoted retainer option.

FAQ

Questions to Ask Any Mobile App Development Company

Cost is the obvious reason and the least interesting one. The more durable arguments are depth of available engineering talent, the ability to staff a full pod including QA and design rather than only developers, and time-zone overlap that gives you progress overnight. The genuine risks are communication distance and firms that subcontract. We address those with in-house-only staffing, four or more hours of daily overlap with US and UK hours, and US and UK entities you can contract with.

Ask for two references on projects similar in size to yours and actually call them. Ask who specifically will write your code and whether they are employees. Ask to see a sample weekly status report. Ask what happens commercially when a sprint slips. Then ask for a paid discovery engagement rather than a free proposal, because a firm confident in its scoping will happily be paid for a week of analysis, and the output tells you far more than a pitch deck.

From a focused single-platform MVP through to multi-year platform programmes with several parallel pods. We are a poor fit for very small fixed-price jobs, a few weeks of work on an existing app, because our process overhead is not worth it at that size and a freelancer will serve you better. We say so rather than taking the work and under-serving it.

Yes, and it is a regular request. We start with a paid technical audit covering code quality, architecture, dependency currency, security exposure, test coverage and store standing, and give you a written assessment with options and costs. Sometimes the recommendation is to continue with the existing codebase; sometimes it is to rebuild. You get the assessment as a standalone deliverable regardless of what you decide next.

Yes to NDAs, before any detailed discussion. On security, we are ISO 27001:2013 certified, which covers access control, device management, background screening and incident response, and we regularly complete client security questionnaires and vendor assessments. For regulated work we support HIPAA-aligned handling, data residency requirements and named-personnel restrictions.

Fixed-scope projects are milestone-based, typically an initiation payment then payments against agreed deliverables, so you are never far ahead of delivered work. Dedicated pods and staff augmentation are billed monthly in arrears on a rolling one-month term. We contract through our US, UK or India entity depending on where you are, so payment, currency and jurisdiction are straightforward.
