Connecting Physical Tanks With Web and Mobile Software
One-Tank combines remote monitoring hardware with digital access to tank information. Its public product pages describe satellite-based monitoring, while the Android and iOS listings describe tank data available through a mobile application.
Project Overview
Anviam developed the web and mobile applications from scratch and handled hardware integration and BLE connectivity. This case study focuses on that software and integration scope, not hardware manufacturing or satellite-network development.
People Behind the Monitoring Workflow
Fuel suppliers, operations teams and tank customers have different information needs. Operators need useful context for a distributed tank portfolio; mobile users need understandable readings and device-related feedback.
Hardware Integration Is Only Useful When People Can Trust the Information
Challenges that follow from the product's purpose and confirmed integration scope, not a reconstructed account of the client's original problems.
Visibility Across Distributed Assets
Physical readings need to reach the correct account and tank before they can inform an operational decision. The interface makes asset identity and observation time clear, rather than presenting an isolated number.
Two Connectivity Paths, Different Responsibilities
Satellite telemetry supports remote data transport; BLE supports a short-range connection to nearby compatible hardware. Local connection state stays distinct from the freshness of remotely received information.
Clear Recovery When Connectivity Changes
Bluetooth permissions, device availability and interrupted connections can stop a local interaction; remote telemetry can arrive later than the measurement. Users get a clear state and next action, not a misleading success message.
Consistent Meaning Across Web and Mobile
The same tank keeps a consistent identity, units and data meaning across application surfaces. A value observed earlier is never presented as newer just because a screen refreshed.
Built From Scratch, Connected to Hardware
Anviam's confirmed delivery scope covers web application development, mobile application development, hardware integration and BLE connectivity.
Web Application
Developed from scratch as a digital surface for working with tank information, including a web admin panel.
Mobile Application
Developed from scratch and distributed through public Android and iOS listings.
Hardware Integration
Connecting the monitoring hardware's device interface to the application experience.
BLE Connectivity
Bluetooth Low Energy between the mobile app and compatible nearby hardware.
Anviam did not design the sensor, manufacture the electronics or build the satellite network. Device models, GATT services and command sets are kept general here.
Connected Tank Monitoring, From Hardware to Applications
Public product capabilities combined with the confirmed delivery scope, not an audit of authenticated workflows.
Remote Tank-Level Visibility
Satellite-connected propane monitoring and tank portfolio visibility, as described on the website.
Usage and Consumption Trends
Usage patterns and consumption trends shown alongside level data.
Satellite-to-Cloud Data Flow
Field modules connected through satellite infrastructure to cloud services.
Cloud API Access
API access for distributing module data to connected destinations.
Web and Mobile Access
Web application, iOS and Android apps, and a web admin panel.
Hardware and BLE Connection
Sensor and hardware integration with a local BLE connection.

Remote Monitoring and Nearby-Device Interaction
A conceptual journey that separates local BLE interaction from remote telemetry, not a documented installation process.
Identify
Associate information with the intended tank or device.
Connect locally
Use the supported nearby BLE connection when needed.
Interpret
Handle the supported device exchange and its result.
Transmit remotely
Satellite telemetry carries monitoring data separately.
View
Access received tank information through web or mobile.
Respond
Use data context to inform the appropriate next action.
Nearby Hardware Path
Within range of compatible hardware, a mobile user grants permissions, identifies the correct device, connects and completes a supported interaction.
Remote Monitoring Path
Satellite connectivity sits between monitoring hardware and cloud-side data access. Device connection, cloud synchronisation and observation freshness remain distinguishable.
Engineering the Boundary Between Software and the Physical World
Technical considerations relevant to the confirmed scope, not claims about verified internal code or a specific architecture.
Discovery, identity and connection lifecycle
Clear permission handling, device discovery and target identification. Disconnection, reconnection and unavailable devices are handled without implying that an incomplete operation succeeded. Pairing or bonding only where the device protocol calls for it.
Protocol and payload interpretation
Supported messages interpreted consistently: identifiers, units, data types and response states. Parsing rules come from the device contract rather than assumptions. No custom GATT profile, firmware change or command is invented here.
Telemetry freshness and reconciliation
Observation time and receipt time answer different questions. Delayed, repeated or out-of-order telemetry should not silently replace a newer valid state, and tests cover stale information and interrupted exchanges as well as the successful path.
Access, mobile behaviour and validation
Tank information restricted to the appropriate account or role. Mobile behaviour accounts for platform permissions and lifecycle changes, and hardware-in-the-loop checks validate the supported interactions.
Delivered Software and Integration Capability
Anviam delivered web and mobile applications built from scratch, hardware integration and BLE connectivity for One-Tank, demonstrating development across application surfaces and the device-integration boundary.
The intended value is more accessible tank information and a usable connection between field hardware and software. Effects on delivery efficiency, operating costs, runouts, safety or user adoption need measured evidence; no fictional figures or modelled results are claimed.
A Bridge Between Devices and Users
Software interfaces connected with physical hardware, without claiming ownership of the communications infrastructure.
Data Privacy, Security and Compliance
Applicable requirements and review priorities. No independent certification, completed assessment or control audit is claimed.
Privacy and Data Lifecycle
Applicable privacy law by deployment location, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 where relevant: purposes, lawful basis, notices, retention and deletion.
Device and Location Data
Whether telemetry, device identifiers and location link to an individual, with access limited to linked accounts.
Hardware, BLE and Telemetry Security
Device authentication, authorised pairing, BLE access and secure telemetry transmission.
Access and Retention
User roles, account/device association, auditability and retention across mobile, web and infrastructure providers.
